Biography of an Icon: Meet Dr. Muhammad S. Rabiu (AYL's Chief Patron)


Dr. Muhammad S. Rabiu -  Chief Patron, Africa Young Leaders.

Dr. Muhammad S. Rabiu is the Chief Patron of Africa Young Leaders (AYL), an organization that trains and inspires African youths into becoming men of valor in the society. 

Dr. M.S. Rabiu hails from Kano State, in the Northern part of Nigeria. He finished his primary education at Hausari Primary School, Maiduguri, Borno State in 1978. Thereafter, he was admitted into Federal Government College, Sokoto, where he completed his secondary education in 1983.

Dr. Rabiu later became a pioneer student of Mass Communication at the University of Maiduguri, where he graduated in 1987. 

Winner of prizes and awards, he was nominated in 1989 by the University for the Graduate Fellowship Award of the American University in Cairo, Egypt, where he obtained his Master's degree. He later obtained his Ph.D at the Benue State University, Makurdi. 

Dr. Rabiu has held appointments in newspapers and magazines as a reporter (New Nigerian Newspapers Ltd, Kaduna), senior staff writer (Abuja Newsday, Abuja); and editor (Trends Magazine, Maiduguri). After gathering rich and varied experiences in both arms of the print media, he progressed from the professional field to the academia. He was an acting Head of Department (H.O.D) and is currently an Associate Professor at the Department of Mass Communication, Nasarawa State University, Keffi. 

Dr. Rabiu has always had passion for youths advocacy and development, which led to his appointment as the Chief Patron of Africa Young Leaders. He has always been working tirelessly to create amazing events and write inspirational articles that would keep the youths motivated in pursuing their dreams. He is a role model not just to Nigerians, not just to Egyptians, but to the whole of Africans.
